Ceremony Flowers
This gorgeous bowl of flowers made the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony recently. One or two large arrangements create ambience at a ceremony, as well as a focal point for guests prior to the arrival of the bride - they sort of 'set the stage' if you like. Not to mention they make a lovely backdrop for photographs whilst vows and rings are exchanged. And after the ceremony they can then be transported to the reception and admired all over again!

Inspiration?
This weekend I had the pleasure of making wedding bouquets for a photo shoot, such fun to let loose and have free reign over the design and materials. Lots of interesting bits used, including salmone roses, privot berry, old fashioned geranium leaves and flowers, a giant dahlia (that I have proudly grown), wild grasses, maiden hair fern, hyacinth and thai basil! I knew I had this unusual colour scheme in mind - deep red, purples, chocolate and a salmon pink/apricot, but it wasn't till someone asked me what my inspiration was that I paused to think and realised.... I'd seen the colours and loved them on this little Poppies for Grace card that I'd purchased a while back. Funny how the mind works, obviously had that little bit of inspiration tucked deep in my thoughts and it was waiting to burst out in the form of a fresh floral posy! |

Gabi & Steele
Gabi and Steele were blessed with an amazing day of sunshine for their wedding at Kenilworth Homestead early this year, it was the one day of sun amidst many of rain! The countryside was iridescent green, fresh and lush, the perfect backdrop for their beautiful ceremony and reception which were both held outdoors. It was so lovely working with their colour palete of greens and blues, a refreshing change as it's not often I get to make gorgeous wedding flowers with these colours! The most beautiful blue hydrangea was available, flawless crisp white phalaenopsis orchids and lovely lime green singapore orchids worked a treat in the bridesmaids bouquets. Special thanks to Kait Photography who captured the day perfectly.

Alain & Nicole
It was such a pleasure creating these flowers for Nicole and Alain who were married at the very quaint little village of Somerset in South East Qld. They had such a unique, contemporary and stylish vision for their day and pulled it off perfectly! The beautiful old hall (Coronation Hall pictured above) was the site for the ceremony (outside) and the reception (inside). It was a fabulous space - the benefit of having a blank canvas is that you can really create your own atmosphere for an event, and with fairy lights strung above, long tressle tables with mismatched chairs, and lots of gorgeous flowers on the tables, the interior was transformed.
